Separated Shoulder + God = Shoulder
Date: 1.29.07
In my movement class, the professor asks if anyone has any physical problems going on before we start. One of my friends, D had something wrong with his shoulder that limited what he could do. After class, I followed another one of my friends, G into Bentley Hall, but I’m not sure why. We were done with classes, and G and I weren’t going to be hanging out or anything. I even said to him on our way in, “I’m not really sure why I’m following you.” He had to get something taken care of, but I was on free-time. We get in there and D is coming down the steps. I started talking to him and very soon after, we were talking about his shoulder. I realized why I was in Bentley Hall. G finished what he had to do and left. I talked to D a little longer. He had separated his shoulder a while ago. Then he re-separated it about a week ago. He was in pain pretty much constantly. He had to schedule surgery on it sometime soon. He wasn’t sure when to do that though because it would mean he couldn’t write (take notes) for a long time thereafter. So I asked him if I could pray for his shoulder. I shared some testimonies with him that made him a bit surprised. We went to my room and talked for another hour about God’s love and healing and things like that (similar to the previous testimony).
So I prayed for his shoulder and asked him what was going on. He told me it had gotten cold inside his shoulder and it was feeling kind of weird (almost like icy-hot inside his arm). He told me his whole body had started tingling too. I asked him to test his shoulder. He had what seemed to me to be full range of motion. He was moving his arm in ways that he couldn’t without pain a few minutes ago. He had no more pain, but there was still grinding when he rotated it. We prayed some more and he felt some stuff happening in it again. This time, it would slightly pop about one time for every three full rotations he’d make with his arm. I asked him if I could pray one more time to get rid of the popping, which I don’t even know if it was something that was wrong. My shoulder pops every now and then as I rotate it, and he told me it didn’t feel like it was catching on anything like it had been. He said it felt perfectly fine. I told him I’d just pray for a minute or two one more time. He was fine with that. I prayed and took my hand off his shoulder, though I didn’t say amen or anything because I don’t want to interrupt what God’s doing. He stayed there for at least 5 minutes (not an exaggeration) with his eyes closed. He opened his eyes and got a little freaked out. He looked at me, and then looked at his shoulder, then back to me. He asked me how long ago I took my hand off him. I told him about 5 minutes ago. He told me he was in shock and he looked the part. He said it felt like there was a hand on him the whole time! God just loves people so much!
