Visine’s Got Nothing on Jesus
Date: 1.17.07
I got back to school to begin the second semester the night before classes started up again. I have 4 classes with two of my friends. I found out during the time walking to and from classes with those guys that one of them had something seriously wrong with his eyes. He was wearing sunglasses off and on. His left eye was red (not pink and not bloodshot) and his other eye was pink. He said that he’s had eye problems like this at different times in his life. He told me that his eyes have been bothering him for a while now. He’d been to the doctor who had given him eye drops to fight infection and vicodin for the pain. He was saying that they were hurting really bad. He actually wanted to skip his last couple of classes and go to the emergency room. He made it through the classes though. After that, I told him that I’d take him to the hospital if he wanted me to; I asked if I could pray for him though before he went to the hospital. I shared some testimonies with him. He told me that prayer would be fine—he was open to anything that might help. So we went to my room and talked for about an hour and a half about a lot of things related to healing and God’s love.
So then I started to pray for him. He was nervous at first, though I tried to un-hype anything that was going to happen. He said he didn’t want to do anything wrong to mess it (the healing) up. I told him he couldn’t really. So I prayed and asked him what was going on. He told me that he felt a spot or something that came onto his left eye in the spot where it hurt really badly every time he’d blink. While I was praying, the spot slowly moved off of his eye. After that, all the pain and itching and discomfort were completely gone. As I prayed a little more, he told me that it felt like there was hair or something really soft all around his eyes. Then he felt tingles wash all over his head. He was laughing because the pain was all gone and he had been on vicodin (that wasn’t doing much) for weeks because of it. He laughed and asked me how I did that… God’s amazing! The redness took a day or two to go away totally, but there was never anymore pain or discomfort in the least bit!
