What Do a Tailbone, a Back, and a Knee Have in Common?

Date: 7.9.06

After house church, Brad asked if anyone had a physical need in their body. A guy named Alfred raised his hand. Alfred had a stroke about 4 or 5 years ago and it left the left side of his body partially paralyzed. His left hand was always clenched. His left ankle hurt and he didn’t have much control of it for walking, and his left arm was very limited in mobility. So me and a couple other people started praying for him. He said his ankle felt tingly and it felt like it wanted to move. He walked on it and he walked better, but it wasn’t all the way healed. I ended up praying for him for an hour or more and in the end, his hand had opened up about halfway, and he could lift his arm a little higher than before. He wasn’t healed the whole way tonight, but we also got to talk to him some and share about the Father’s love for him, which was really cool.

While we were praying for Alfred, other awesome stuff was happening around us. Before we even started praying for Alfred, someone came over and said that there was a woman named Roberta who had been sitting in her van while we worshipped and Brad spoke. She had to sit in the van because her tailbone was out of place or messed up or something like that. Amy went over and started praying for her. It was about 80% better, so she got out of the van. Brad went over a little later and told me that he told the tailbone to be healed, and right after he said that, she kind of jumped and said “oooh.” It didn’t hurt her anymore, so she got out of the van and was so happy she danced a little in the street—literally.

Amy was praying for a guy named Ed too who’d been hanging out with us for the past couple days. He had 5 crushed discs in his back from playing football in school. He’s now 36, so his back had been a problem for a long time. He’d always hunch over a little bit. His back started feeling warm, and then all of the pain went away completely. He could stand up straight without any problems!

I was talking to Ed later on in the night and saw a girl named Chrissy wincing in pain as she walked. I asked her what was wrong, and she started telling me all about her messed up knee. She said it pops out of place often and it was currently out of place. I asked if we could pray for her, and she said yes. Last summer she had 4 compressed discs in her back, and God completely healed that. So she got a chair and sat down. Ed grabbed a chair and set it down in front of her, and for some reason, Sean came over and sat down in it. So Ed got another chair and sat it next to Sean. There wasn’t any room for me to sit down. I asked Chrissy what was wrong and she said it pops out of place, she had water on the knee and there was a hairline fracture down her kneecap in the shape of a V. She didn’t have insurance to get the surgery she needed. So Sean put his hand on it and said, “Well be healed in Jesus’ name.” In a couple seconds, I heard him ask her if ’she felt that’ or if it was just him. She said she felt it moving. Ed put his hand over Sean’s and I heard Ed say that he could feel it moving through Sean’s hand! I was just watching it all because there wasn’t any room for me to get in there. After a couple minutes, she said she couldn’t feel it anymore. She stood up and it didn’t hurt one bit! The water on her knee had gone away too! It used to be squishy on her knee, but now it was hard! I don’t know that I’ve seen a healing happen that quickly before. It was like God couldn’t wait to heal it or something. God is sooooooo incredible!
